Fiona brings three years of teaching experience in multi-age classroom settings to the Learning Academy, where she has developed a deep commitment to student-centered, experiential learning. She firmly believes that the world around us is the best classroom and aims to cultivate a sense of wonder within her students.

Raised in Boise, Fiona earned her Bachelor of Science in K-8 Education from Northern Arizona University in 2022 and spent her early years as an educator in Phoenix, Arizona. Fiona is dedicated to fostering both curiosity and critical thinking in her students while building a positive classroom community where every learner feels a genuine sense of belonging and value. Beyond the classroom, Fiona is a passionate outdoorswoman, artist, and avid traveler whose diverse interests deeply inform her instructional practice.

Following three years of classroom teaching, Fiona made the intentional decision to step back from full-time teaching and pursue an extended international sabbatical. During this year abroad, she immersed herself in global perspectives and cross-cultural learning experiences that have profoundly shaped her teaching practice. Her travels took her through Southeast Asia, where she earned her Yoga Teacher certification in Indonesia, explored the mountainous terrain of Japan, and journeyed through the diverse landscapes of Thailand and New Zealand. She also spent four months in Patagonia, Chile, working and living in the beautiful forest. These rich and varying experiences have allowed Fiona to inspire her students with the belief that learning extends beyond textbooks and classroom walls. Fiona is a passionate advocate for lifelong learning and believes that life should be full of adventure! She is genuinely thrilled to be joining the LATV team and is incredibly grateful to have found such a special and welcoming community to call home.

Welcome to The Learning Academy of Teton Valley! We are honored that you are considering our school for your child’s educational journey. Located in Driggs, Idaho, our campus serves students from preschool through eighth grade and offers a nature-based, individualized learning environment where children are encouraged to explore, create, and grow at their own pace.
