Red and Yellow Explorers

Todays group was a real blast! We sang songs, played freeze dance with the green/blue group, and made “sparklers” out of pipe cleaners. We also had fun at recess and story time followed by Bubbles Chemistry. For todays science, the students got a chance to make their  own solution and wands to take outside and blow bubbles! They were so excited to see their wands and solution actually work and produce bubbles, and it was so much fun to watch. Of course, no day at summer camp is complete without water play with friends!

Green and Blue Explorers

This morning, we made patriotic pinwheels.  We took red and blue paper and decorated it with stars.  Then we cut and folded it into a pinwheel and stuck them in the garden for decoration.  After art, we headed out front to play a game of basketball.  We played super hard in the hot sun so we were sure to drink plenty of water.  Next, we joined the younger group in a game of freeze dance.  It is so much fun to dance with our friends.  To conclude the morning, we taught our new campers how to play one of our favorite camp games, frogger!  After lunch, we headed back out in the hot sun to play in the water.  We sure love these extra hot days because water play is a blast!
